May 26th 2023 - Law Enforcement Appreciation Luncheon
The Western New York Chapter of ASIS International has been honoring law enforcement for the past 48 years. Again, we would like to honor law enforcement officers and present scholarships to local students.
This year, nomination forms were sent to every municipality in Erie, Niagara, Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, Allegany, Orleans, Genesee, and Wyoming Counties, as well as to Federal and State Law Enforcement agencies. The forms request each department’s supervisors to acknowledge their officers’ heroism, valor, and dedication. Awards are given to officers who perform “above and beyond” the call. We also distributed our scholarship applications to local colleges and universities across the WNY area.
As you know, ASIS WNY is a non-profit organization, and we need your help!
We are looking for any contributions to our program, and with your contribution, we will recognize your company/organization.
We are fully committed to this pursuit of recognition and public appreciation for the Law Enforcement and Security Professional community. ASIS International is the leading organization for security professionals worldwide. Founded in 1955, ASIS is dedicated to increasing the effectiveness and productivity of security professionals by developing educational programs and materials that address broad security interests. April 19th 2023 - Made in Beijing: The Plan for Global Market Domination
An FBI Supervisory Special Agent from FBI Buffalo will introduce the video and lead a brief discussion following.

The counterintelligence and economic espionage efforts emanating from the government of China and the Chinese Communist Party are a grave threat to the economic well-being and democratic values of the United States.
Confronting this threat is the FBI’s top counterintelligence priority. To be clear, the adversary is not the Chinese people or people of Chinese descent or heritage. The threat comes from the programs and policies pursued by an authoritarian government. The Chinese government is employing tactics that seek to influence lawmakers and public opinion to achieve policies that are more favorable to China.
At the same time, the Chinese government is seeking to become the world’s greatest superpower through predatory lending and business practices, systematic theft of intellectual property, and brazen cyber intrusions.
China’s efforts target businesses, academic institutions, researchers, lawmakers, and the general public and will require a whole-of-society response. The government and the private sector must commit to working together to better understand and counter the threat.
