2020 WNY ASIS LE Appreciation & Scholarships
WELCOME
The COVID restrictions our Board faced in 2020 affected our local ASIS WNY Community. We worked to continue to recognize local Law Enforcement Officers and provide a scholarship with the help of our sponsors.
This year, the event is much different! The following award winners are outlined in this presentation as well as our Scholarship Winner and the 2021 Board. Hopefully, we can all meet in December for our 47th Annual Luncheon.
Thank you and Congratulations to all!

PRESENTATION
SCHOLARSHIP
The COVID restrictions of 2020 affected every aspect of the community and, unfortunately, limited the Western New York ASIS Chapter’s ability for raising the amount of funding we had raised in past years. The Chapter’s fund raising provides the monies for the college scholarship program that benefits area college students seeking a degree in the Security and/or Criminal Justice fields. The Chapter has been able to award an average of three $1000 scholarships annually. The majority of the money was generated by our annual golf tournament. Being unable to run the tournament this year had put the scholarship program in jeopardy. However, thanks to the generosity of TOPS Markets, O’Connell Electric, and National Grid, we are very happy and thankful to announce that the Chapter will be able to continue this long running program and award a $1000 scholarship for 2020.

FROM THE CHAIR
This year has brought us a pandemic to weather through. When the everyday citizen is at home worried about maintaining their families safety, law enforcement professionals are out fighting to keep us safe. They are out monitoring our neighborhoods no matter what the current storm may be. So many departments have been faced with COVID-19 outbreaks but every day these men and women show up. These brave men and women took an oath to protect and serve and that is what they do daily!
So many Law Enforcement Officers thanklessly, day in and day out, keep watch and protect us, which is why WNY ASIS wishes to make sure we were able to take the time to recognize some of their heroic acts from this past year. We had to acknowledge our awardees a bit differently this year since we were unable to recognize each at the annual Law Enforcement Appreciation Luncheon which we are hopeful we can be brought back in 2021. Please join us in virtually honoring these men and women who selflessly protect us daily.
Next time you see an officer in your neighborhood, take a second to smile and wave. Better still, stop and say thank you. Let them know how much you appreciate them and the thankless work they do to keep you and everyone around you safe!
Thank you all!
