September - The #007 Western New York Chapter concluded an 8
week CPP (Certified Protection Professional) Study Group session which began on
May 26th. A total of 10 local chapter members participated in the sessions which
were held at St. Joseph's Hospital in Cheektowaga, NY. All areas of the CPP Exam
were covered with presentations, sample exams and student dialogue. A library of
CPP study materials was available to participants throughout the period.
There are currently 8 CPP certified individuals in the local chapter, 2 PSP's
(Physical Security Professionals) and 1 PCI (Professional Certified
Investigator). Recently trained participants are encouraged to enroll for and
take the CPP exam in 2007. Good luck to all !

The Western New York ASIS Chapter #007 would like to thank all the
Sponsors and participants for making the 2007 Tournament a huge
success! 44 Golfers participated in the event and over 80 prizes were handed out
after the steak dinner at Terry Hills Golf Course in Batavia, NY. Special
recognition goes to Dave Mondry (M&T Bank) and Joe Kazmark (Securitas) who
chaired the event.

Group Study Program Kicks Off:
Our initial meeting will be held on May 29th at St. Joseph's Hospital, 2605
Harlem Rd, Cheektowaga, NY, 14225-4097 starting at 5PM. We will use this meeting
to get organized and begin the process of preparing for the CPP exam. It is
anticipated that we will divide the sessions up into the portions of the exam as
follows:

Homework assignments and home study are esssential. Electronic presentations and
sample tests will be distributed to participants.

In order to facilitate better recognition of local members, a custom
identification badge will be made for each ASIS member to be picked up at each
meeting. If you are a member and have not been assigned a badge, please contact

The ASIS local chapter is offering an in house
CPP study group to members who are interested in pursuing their CPP (Certified
Protection Professional). In order to have an "officially recognized" study
group by ASIS, at least 8 participants are needed. If less than 8 participants
are interested, we can still run the group studies, however we will not received
ASIS discounts on materials obtained in the study sessions. Interested members
should contact Paul Kihl or Vito Czyz for more information and to arrange
session meetings.
