2011 GOLF TOURNAMENT

On Monday, July 25th, 2011, the WNY Chapter of ASIS will hold its Annual Scholarship Fundraiser and Golf Outing at the Fox Valley Country Club in Lancaster, NY.

Proceeds of the Golf Outing benefit the ASIS Scholarship Fund and modest business operating expenses. The WNY Chapter of ASIS is setting a goal to raise enough funds to augment our Scholarship Program and strengthen the local Chapter. Over the past 14 years, the local chapter is proud to announce it has awarded over $30,000.00 in scholarships to local students who attend local colleges and universities. Last year we had 2 scholarship winners or $1,000.00 each.  This success is a result of local corporate sponsorship who take great pride in the community and share our goal to develop the organization, its’ programs and students. Many of these outstanding students have moved on to serve the community positively in both private and public sector security and law enforcement positions.

In order to achieve our goals and make this outing a success we need your help. We are seeking corporate sponsorship, which is available as follows:

Corporate Outing Sponsorship  $250.00

  • Large sign at hole
  • Name highlighted in golf outing program as Corporate Sponsor
  • Local chapter gift of appreciation
  • Company link on our website

Hole Sponsor  $100.00

  • Name listed in golf outing program

We are also seeking Prize Donations to be presented and/or raffled off at the outing. All prize donors will be recognized in our golf outing program.

JANUARY

We started 2011 with a Bring a Guest for Free (any member can bring a guest of his choice at no charge) meeting, coupled with a great speaker, Mark Kreyer with U.S. Department of Homeland Security.  The meeting was held at 11:45 on Tuesday, January 18th at the Sonoma Grille.

Mark W. Kreyer, Protective Security Advisor, Buffalo District, U.S. Department of Homeland Security

Upon graduation from Niagara University in 1979 as a Distinguished Military Graduate, Mark entered the U.S. Army as a second lieutenant.  Over the span of a 23-year career he served in both the Military Police Corps and in Army Aviation.  A Desert Storm veteran, Mark is the recipient of the Bronze Star Medal, the Air Medal and the Army Commendation Medal both with “V” device denoting Valor.  He retired in December 2001 as a lieutenant colonel.

In addition to his education from Niagara University, Mark holds a Masters Degree in National Security and Strategic Studies from the U.S. Naval War College, as well as a Masters Degree in Security Management from Webster University in St. Louis.

In July of 2005, Mark was appointed as a Protective Security Advisor (PSA) for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Office of Infrastructure Protection.  PSAs are DHS’s on-site critical infrastructure and vulnerability assessment specialists assigned to local communities throughout the United States. PSAs serve as DHS infrastructure protection liaisons between Federal agencies; state, local, territorial, and tribal governments and the private sector.  Based in Buffalo, Mark’s geographical area of responsibility includes the 20 western most counties of upstate New York.

As a member of the American Society for Industrial Security, Mark is board certified as a Certified Protection Professional (CPP).  Mark and his wife Lynn reside in Williamsville, NY.
